This exhibition is inspired by one letter from the English alphabet. The composition of the artwork is based on the interpretation of the letter chosen by the artist.

The artwork can originate directly from the artist's involvement with, and celebration of the selected letter taken literally or abstractly; or the composition of a figurative or representational painting could be based on the shape of the letter, offering no overt display of the letter, or it might also appear as an integrated component of the overall composition as a featured accent element.

The artist, may choose an English alphabet from any historical period or style of interest, from the classic Gothic, illuminated manuscript, English Renaissance to the contemporary urban graffiti. Whether purely a graphic representation of the letter, a representational painting using the letter as the basis for its compositional structure, or an abstraction based on an intellectual, emotional and/or spiritual response to the aesthetic attributes of the letter chosen, this is the thematic requirement of each artwork entered. Because of the space limitations of the McMeen Gallery, each artist entrant may only show one artwork.
